JAZZINEC

When a small jam in the wine bar turns into an international festival, which takes place every year and throughout the year, it´s called Jazzinec - a multi-genre festival of jazz, blues, funk and world music. The first concerts start in February and then one event a week takes place until April. The conclusion is the Festival Final. In the autumn months, After Parties and Autumn Parties follow. The festival is accompanied by an exhibition of Jazz world photo exhibition.

Trutnov, Jazzinec 2020

The Jazzinec Festival is undoubtedly one of the best things you can see, hear and experience in this type of music not only in Trutnov, but in the whole Czech Republic. The great local audience welcomes the biggest stars and creates a nice and friendly atmosphere.

The words of the performers themselves prove that it´s not us boasting about ourselves:

“Extraordinary energy and strong will. And great stages!” (John Medeski)

“Fantastic, I didn't expect so many great moments to experience and that many great people to meet here”. (Victor Bailey)

“Such a small town and such an amazing and accommodating audience!” (Harry Waters)

The festival founded in 1999 as a few days of friendly jamming in a wine bar, now takes place in several halls and spaces in Trutnov. The main concert takes place at UFFO (Trutnov Community Centre – awarded The Construction of the Year 2011 award). Other concerts take place in the Bohuslav Martinů Concert Hall, a former evangelical church with a unique atmosphere, or in the original Music Restaurant “Pod hradem”.

A special feature of the festival is the annual extraordinary concert, where world stars and Czech musicians will play together. These concerts are designed especially for Jazzinec and you will not hear them anywhere else.

During Jazzinec, the winners of the JAZZ WORLD PHOTO international photography competition are awarded prizes. On that occasion, the first annual exhibition takes place in the exhibition area of the town hall.
