Up to the mountain tops

You don't have to worry about the altitude! The Krkonoše cycling buses will take you comfortably from Trutnov to the very tops of the mountains. The buses run every year from June to September, this year from 25 May to 29 September. There are a total of 9 lines in operation and the full timetable can be found now at www.krkonose.eu. It will be available in printed form at our tourist centre before the start of the cycling season at the end of May.

Adrenaline on the trails

The Trutnov Trails network of one-way off-road mountain bike trails can be found in the vicinity of Trutnov in the area of Čížkovy Kameny and Jestřebí hory. These are pleasant trails that offer about 37 km of natural single trails of varying difficulty. They are designed to be interesting for all categories of bikers. And if you don't have the necessary equipment? Trutnov Trails will be happy to rent you a bike.

You can also test your skills on wooden footbridges, drops, banked turns, etc. in the Vlčka bike park. It covers an area of about 50,000 m2 and has 7 different tracks, varying in both difficulty and character. The individual tracks can be combined in several places, thus creating countless different possibilities and combinations of obstacles.

Cycle paths for cool

Those who are not too keen on adrenaline activities can take advantage of the relaxing cycle paths in the surroundings of Trutnov. You can get a map of them at our Tourist Information Centre.

For example, you can go to the extinct village of Sklenářovice, where gold used to be mined, to the Čapek brothers in Malé Svatoňovice or to the traces of the Prussian-Austrian war in 1866.

Cycling event under the auspices of Krakonoš

You don't have to be a professional athlete to take part in such a cycling marathon. Literally everyone can enjoy the Krakonoš cycling marathon. All active athletes, including children, can experience the atmosphere of the race or just enjoy the rich accompanying program as fans. This year's edition of the road cycling race will traditionally lead over the ridges of the Giant Mountains and the Czech-Polish border area and will welcome its participants on 15 June 2024.

Don't you have a bike? Borrow one!

Bicycles, the increasingly popular electric bikes and scooters are available for rent at the Main station in Trutnov, including mandatory and additional equipment. In the Hradec Králové Region, the service operates all year round, with only e-bikes available from June until the end of the cycling season.

The possibility of renting quality mountain bikes and, for your children, a child's wheelchair for a bike is provided by the hotel Davídek in Trutnov, where you can not only stay, but you can also use other accompanying services that will help make your stay more pleasant.

New this year in Trutnov is a bike sharing system. You can rent them at one place and return them at another. Just download the nextbike app for free, register and find a free bike at one of the 18 marked stations. The first 15 minutes of the ride are free, from the 16th minute onwards riders will be charged the standard rate for mechanical bikes of 25 CZK for every 30 minutes of the ride and for electric bikes 2 CZK for every minute.

And what if you've already arrived by bike but want to explore the interesting places of our city without your bike getting in the way? Then there's the biketower at the bus station. Here you can store your bikes and even your luggage safely.
