Venue Bojiště

The area is named after the fierce battle in the Prussian-Austrian war that took place here on June 27, 1866. There is no more fighting here today. On the contrary, it is a place of culture, entertainment and good fun. During the year, especially in summer months, many concerts, performances and festivals are organized here. Movies screened in the open air have a wonderful atmosphere, not only in summer but also in winter.

Trutnov venue Bojiště

Festivals may be the right reason for you to come to Trutnov for the whole weekend. An individual concert or film can pleasantly diversify one of the evenings.

Summer and winter cinema

This is one of the last cinemas in the Czech Republic still screening the original 35mm film stock. The cinema program is dominated by iconic movies from 20th century, either foreign or domestic productions. Hard to describe the amazing experience watching movies on one of the largest outdoor screens in the country (diagonally almost 30 m), in a quiet and pleasant outdoor environment.
It is open in any weather from May to September, every Saturday. The performance starts at sundown (20.00 - 21.15).
Every season, the program also shows children’s films on Fridays (late August and mid-September).
A rare event are Advent film showings in the open air within the "winter" cinema, which before Christmas holidays provide an ideal opportunity for social gatherings in real winter atmosphere.
Parking and camping fee are free, snacks are available.
Blankets are free of charge.

Backstage concerts

Behind the summer cinema screen, in the legendary Backstage, where world-famous musicians have been preparing for their performances, a weekend refreshment terrace is opened during the summer months and open-air concerts are organized every Friday (except festival days).
Great atmosphere, busy program, full breakfast included in the price of Friday concert tickets. Camping and parking are free.
The whole venue of Bojiště is freely available for a family program, sports activities, sitting and relaxation and is an ideal base for trips to the Giant Mountains and their surroundings.
The festival venue, Backstage Bojiště will be your refreshment centrepoint with comfortable facilities (showers, toilets).
The menu includes many quality drinks, barbecued delicacies and hot and cold snacks. The operators are not afraid of modern recipes and also offer vegan and vegetarian food.
Self-service barbecues are free to hire, firewood is supplied for a voluntary contribution.

Artu Kus Festival

A unique and original 4-day festival focused on music, fine arts, theater, visual arts and other artistic expressions. It is above all a celebration of the free spirit, openness, tolerance, creativity, and creative conception of life. The third week in August, the complex is a home to this new discovery on the Czech festival scene.
2 music stages, 1 theater / experimental stage and an impressive creative zone full of workshops, art installations, projections, performances, etc. are waiting for you.
Busy dramaturgy, discussions on current cultural and social phenomena, interesting guests, university student projects, top Czech Slam Poetry, author readings, selected refreshments, new discoveries from the local and foreign music scene. All this and much more in the legendary Bojiště Trutnov festival venue.
